About Krista

Hello! I’m Krista, a follower of Christ, wife to Joey, and momma my three littles: a daughter (3) and a son (1), and a new little one coming in 2026. Most days you’ll find me bustling around the kitchen of our Little Blue House, a 1990’s ranch home that backs up a bubbling, winding creek. My schedule is dictated by the buzzing of the laundry, the snacking habits of toddlers, and nap times, during which I work from home. It’s a fairly ordinary life, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

The premise behind The Everyday Aesthetic is that a beautiful life isn’t out of reach. It’s not found in the lavish vacations (although if you can afford it, more power to you) or the fancy cars. It’s found in the daily details of life–the smiles of your babies, the joy of sitting down to family dinner after a long day of work, and the peace you feel when you realize that YOU control your financial future.

A beautiful life isn’t out of reach, but it does take a little bit of work, a lot of discernment, and yes, even a budget.

Studies have shown that women make 70-80% of their household’s financial decisions. This means that you, as a wife or a mom, have the power to make or break your family. In finances. In peace. In what they will choose to value. That’s a lot of weight on us as women. But with a bit of grit, a good work ethic, and a healthy dose of discernment, we also have the power to be one of the greatest blessings in our home, building a beautiful life and a legacy that can long outlast us.

That, my friends, is truly a high calling.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will not lack anything good. She rewards him with good, not evil, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax, and works with willing hands…She rises while it is still night, and provides food for her household…She evaluates a field and buys it; she plants a vineyard with her earnings…She sees that her profits are good, and her lamp never goes out at night…Her hands reach out to the poor, and she extends her hands to the needy.”

“She is not afraid for her household when it snows, for all in her household are doubly clothed. She makes and sells linen garments; she delivers belts to the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom and loving instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle.”

“Her sons rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her: “Many women are capable, but you surpass them all!” Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD will be praised. Give her her reward for her labor, and let her works praise her in the city gates.” Excerpts from Proverbs 31

If this could be me, then I will truly have a beautiful life.
